I bought the pantry line of fresh food and I was impressed with the quality. I was worried that being shelf stable would change the consistency or food quality, but it's actually still great. I tried this to replace my home cooked food while I was away to make it easier on my dog sitter and it was a great replacement. I recommend.

Both the boys absolutely love this flavor I ordered for them. They previously enjoyed the Pantry Fresh Lamb & Rice but this appears to be their new favorite! They can hardly wait for me to place their dish on their mat & they “woof” it down & lick their bowl making sure they didn’t leave a single bit of food. They love it & I enjoy how easy it is to store & serve.

It used to have a coarse texture that my dog could get out of the bowl without too much trouble and now it is like a thick liquid that sticks to the bowl and requires significantly more work for him to eat and more work for me to help him.

My dog has PLN, a kidney disease. I was feeding her JFFD’s low protein food and it was a battle. She is very food motivated but wouldn’t eat your low protein kidney food without a fight. I looked at some of your other options and saw that the turkey & macaroni and also the beef & russet potatoes are only slightly higher in protein. Fortunately, she loves both of them. She’s back to her old happy self! Which begs the question: how bad is the taste of the kidney specific formula that she wouldn’t eat it?

My understanding was that the pantry fresh were similar to their frozen counterparts. The turkey pantry fresh looks and smells very different. One of our dogs who is not a picky eater, won't even eat this. The macaroni are huge and everything very mushy and sticky. He eats anything but this. Our other dog won't go near it. Will not purchase this flavor again.

How long is the shelf life if the package is unopened?

    If unopened, and away from extreme temperatures, it is my 3 year experience that the Tetra pacs will be fine for 6/7 months. But please read the expiration dates on package. If package expands from the heat of commercial delivery, I have been known to return a few boxes to store as a precaution but over-all I have had good a positive experience.

    No, the food is fresh in the box. You cut it open and scoop it out. You can refrigerate anything left in the box for up to a few days.
