Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Dogs typically do not have a complete intolerance to dairy, but as it is not a mainstay of their dietary needs, it can cause GI upset. I typically do not recommend giving dogs straight milk, and lower sugar ice creams can have artificial sugars (such as xylitol) which are toxic to dogs. Regular ice cream or cheese can be fine in small amounts but it based on each individual animal. If you want to give your dog anything dairy as a small treat, only start with one thing in very small amounts to see how Brody tolerates it and ensure he doesn't develop any vomiting/diarrhea.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Hazel. Cold treats can be refreshing for a dog over the summer. One per day should be fine as long as she is not overweight. An easy recipe is as follows: 3 ripe bananas 32oz of plain yogurt 1 cup peanut butter Blend all three ingredients together and pour into an ice cube tray or however you want to freeze them. Freeze them in larger pieces for larger dogs. Always supervise her with a new treat and monitor for any vomiting or diarrhea signifying the new treat does not agree with her. I hope this information helps!

Thank you for relying PetCoach today to ask if you can give your dog ice cream cone. I can't say that it's the best idea for Jovie, but I would be lying if I said I haven't give my dog a small amount of [ice cream](https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/ice-cream/) from time to time. You might expect some diarrhea from ice cream, but that is likely the worst consequence she may have. Beagles have tough tummies in my experience since they tend to eat just about everything. Minor upset can typically be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is fine for Chloe to have milk bones. The treats and the dog food doesn't have to be the same unless Chloe suffers from food or skin allergies where the food protein is the same. Have a great day!

Brody is very handsome! I would not give any treats if he is on a hypoallergenic diet. I do have a recipe from Hills you can use to make treats with the food he is on. That way you are not adding anything extra to his diet. https://www.hillspet.com/dog-care/nutrition-feeding/healthy-homemade-dog-treats Thank you for using PetCoach.
