Hello and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is not the best idea to give Olie sweet food. Eating too much sugar and carbohydrates can lead to problems with obesity in dogs, just like in people. It is better to stick with healthier treats - you may want to try offering Olie a piece of carrot or small piece of sweet potato instead of sweets.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could certainly be due to the change in the household with a new pet. However, this should subside relatively quickly. If Ollie has not improved in the next 2-3 days, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment to make sure there is nothing else more concerning going on. In the meantime, you can try to entyce his appetite with things like chicken or ham. Good luck and have a great day!

It is very new so no vets really have much experience with this food. That being said, I have heard of it and I know a few clients that use it and love it. I am OK with it because they use AAFCO standards. Any food that is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles should be fine to feed. Hope his helps. If you have any more questions please feel free to post again. Best wishes.

That cake looks so yummy for dogs! Good on you for having Ollie on a strict no human food diet, that is excellent. Because he's never had anything like that cupcake before, that will probably be the cause of his diarrhea. Sudden changes in diet can lead to this diarrhea. I can give you a home remedy to help with Ollie's diarrhea, but it does have some human food as the bland diet. When dog's need a bland diet for GI upset, it's fine to give him this human food. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Good luck, I hope this helps :-)

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach. If Sherlock is fearful and aggressive towards strangers, it is going to be too difficult to train him before the holidays as training takes time. If you are going to have people over then I would keep him in a separate room or a crate. I would also recommend using a product called NaturVet Quiet Moments with Melatonin for dogs. You can find these at your local pet store or online. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
