While Halloween may be fun for us, it can be stressful for pets. Before the trick-or-treaters start ringing the doorbell, be sure that your pet is safely confined in a crate or room so that they don’t escape amidst the chaos. Keep any candy or treats out of reach of pets. Chocolate is toxic to pets, and many other treats or candies can lead to gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis. If your pet becomes excessively anxious when the doorbell rings repeatedly, discuss solutions with your veterinarian.

The safety of flying with pets varies widely depending on an individual pet’s temperament, anxiety level and underlying health issues, as well as the duration of the flight and temperature both at the destination and departure location. Generally speaking, most pets do not make the best travel companions while flying, as they can become very anxious with the hustle and bustle of the terminal, loud noises on the airplane and handling during security checkpoints. Anxious pets are more likely to become destructive, vocal or have accidents. Larger pets need to travel in crates in the baggage compartment of the plane, where they are unsupervised and may be exposed to extreme temperatures for potentially prolonged periods of time while waiting to be loaded or unloaded from the plane. In addition, most airlines require a veterinarian to sign off on the health of the pet before they can fly in cargo. When possible, most pets will be more comfortable and safer if left at home with a trusted friend or pet sitter or may travel better by car. If you must travel with your pet, be sure to pack a travel water bowl, extra food, a leash, travel litter pan, supply of medication and bags for cleanup. Always discuss the safety of flying with your individual pet with your veterinarian.

Petco requires animals in our care to meet certain vaccination requirements based on age and type of animal. All required vaccinations must be up to date. See the table below for required vaccinations. Required vaccinations for grooming: ----------------------------------- ### Dog - **Under 16 weeks:** Puppy Starter (Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper). Puppies must have completed at least 2 sets of shots before being admitted into the Grooming Salon. - **16 weeks and older:** Rabies: All dogs must wait 24 hours after receiving any vaccination before being admitted into the Grooming Salon. - **New York City:** requires that every dog sheltered, maintained, harbored, fed, watered or groomed be vaccinated for rabies, distemper, hepatitis, para-influenza, and parvovirus within past three years and for Bordetella within the past six months. - Due to vaccination limitations with Wolf hybrids, these pets will not be accepted for any services/events in any Petco facility. This includes, but is not limited to, Grooming, Dog Training, Pooch, Adoption events, Veterinary Clinics, etc. ### Cat - **Under 16 weeks:** Parvovirus (Panleukopenia), Herpesvirus-1 (Viral Rhinotracheitis), Calicivirus, First Year Boosters - **16 weeks and older:** Rabies **Required Vaccinations for Dog Training:** - Under 16 weeks: puppy starter (Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper) - 16 weeks and older: rabies - Note: puppies must have at least their first set of Puppy shots a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the class. **Acceptable Proof of Vaccinations:** - Vaccination Record from the Veterinarian's office, rescue group, or breeder - Typed letter on Veterinary Clinics letterhead. All vaccinations must be administered or supervised by a Veterinarian. - Proof of vaccinations is not required for use of the Self-Service Pet Wash - Petco does not require vaccinations in our Hawaii stores. Sully is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. I wish I could give you a simple answer to your question, but every animal is different and some require a combination of products. I would say that about 50% of the animals I try it with have a good response to Rescue Remedy, so that is often my first choice for cats (especially since it can just be added to the water). I have not used the other products, but both appear to have ingredients that could be used alone or in combination with Rescue Remedy. Don't forget that natural supplements are much more variable than medications and will not sedate, so they are sometimes not enough for a very anxious cat. I also recommend combining supplements with a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) or a Comfort Zone Diffuser ( https://www.comfortzone.com/ ) in your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. You could also consider calming music specifically for cats ( http://throughadogsear.com/tace/through-a-cats-ear-1-music-for-calming/ ). Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
