I don't recommend Acana because it's grain free, and vets are seeing an increase in dogs with dilated cardiomyopathy who are on grain free diets. Here's the thing about the claims of only certain foods being "human grade": They are all human grade! The products come from animals slaughtered in plants that use the meat for human consumption. It comes from the same animal that provides chicken breasts to humans. The brands of food I recommend are the only ones that have veterinary nutritionists on staff, which ensures the food is balanced. They also meet AAFCO standards and run feeding trials. Those brands are Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I feed my dogs Iams, and they love it. I hope this helps!

This is a great question! It is possible to cook balanced meals for Phoebe, but it does take a little work. Please visit balanceit.com and https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control for information on balanced diets for dogs and what is safe for them to eat. Raw diets are not recommended by the AVMA due to the risk of transmission of food borne diseases to both pets and humans. Please see the following link for more information about this https://www.avma.org/KB/Policies/Pages/Raw-or-Undercooked-Animal-Source-Protein-in-Cat-and-Dog-Diets.aspx.

No problem! Happy to help! From what I could research, it appears Bewi's standards for food production are exceptional. All the protein products that come from animals are human grade- meaning they are also approved for human food which is impressive. A lot of dog foods out there do not meet this standard. They also have rigorous quality control testing which is another good mark!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Gaea. I do not recommend feeding her table scraps instead of dog food. Being a growing puppy, she has very specific nutritional needs to support her growth and development. If her diet is not properly balanced, it can lead to health problems for her. If you are interested in home cooking for her though, I recommend seeking the advice of a veterinary nutritionist at www.balanceit.com. You can have a diet formulated specific for her needs as an artic breed puppy. I hope this information helps!
